Donna Shannon-Kaye is a highly experienced Senior Counselling Psychologist, registered with the UK Health and Care Professions Council. She works in private practice and part-time in the NHS
Since graduating from Trinity College Dublin in 2005, Donna has spent over fifteen years working with children, adolescents and adults with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. She has a longstanding interest in working with Autistic individuals and those with other neurodevelopmental differences. She enjoys supporting others in developing a better understanding of themselves and helping them embrace their differences and unique strengths
Donna works with clients in a flexible, collaborative and client-centred way. She aims to develop a good working relationship with each client, so clients feel respected and understood. She will tailor her approach to suit the needs and goals of each individual
Donna takes an integrative approach to psychological interventions and is trained in a number of therapeutic models including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Person Centred Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Psychodynamic Therapy and Eye Movement and Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. She has also undertaken additional training in Bereavement and Loss, Psychological Assessment, Suicide Prevention, Autism and Neurodevelopmental Differences and Autism Assessments
Donna also provides consultation and supervision for mental health professionals, such as psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors
