Sinéad is a Clinical Psychologist and chartered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland
Sinéad utilises a compassionate, person-centered approach in her work and has experience working collaboratively with Autistic individuals across various settings and contexts
Sinéad first attained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Philosophy and Art History at University College Dublin, before returning to university in 2013 to pursue a career in psychology. She attained a Postgraduate Higher Diploma in Psychology (HDipPsych) at National University of Ireland, Galway, before completing a Masters (MSc) in Applied Psychology at Trinity College Dublin
Prior to her doctoral training, Sinéad gained experience working across a variety of settings and services including child and adolescent primary care, paediatric psychology, adult mental health, and disability services, as well as working with voluntary organisations supporting autistic individuals
Sinéad completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsych) at University of Limerick. Her doctoral thesis focused on the relationship between childhood adversity and mortality risk in adulthood. Throughout her training, Sinéad completed placements in child and adult mental health services, including a specialist perinatal mental health service and disability services, in which she worked with Autistic children and adults. Sinéad is experienced in working with survivors of trauma and has a special interest in this work
Wherever Sinéad works, she endeavours to create a collaborative therapeutic alliance with each client she meets. She is passionate about creating a safe, comfortable and non-judgemental space with her clients, based on respect and compassionate understanding. Sinéad is motivated by the neurodiversity-affirmative movement and is committed to listening to and being guided by the Autistic community. She is happy to be working with The Adult Autism Practice, where she can engage in Autistic-led practice
