Eilis is a Counselling Psychologist and Graduate member of the Health and Care Professions Council, PYL042529. Eilis completed a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from Trinity College Dublin in 2022, and before this a Masters in Clinical Neuroscience and Mental Health from University College Galway and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from University College Galway
Eilis has a wide range of experience working with both children and adults in HSE primary care and mental health services as well as working with children and adults accessing intellectual disabilities services, some of whom identify as being neurodivergent. Since qualifying Eilis has been working with teenagers who have eating disorders in the NHS. She works with families to support their children to recover from eating disorders and find better ways to communicate different needs which often includes neurodiversity. Eilis has experience working in clinical and non-clinical settings in services in the UK and Ireland
As a psychologist Eilis feels very grateful for the opportunity to train and support clients through neuro-affirmative autism assessments, and really believes in the continuing learning to make the process more accessible and empowering for all. Eilis uses a person-centred therapy approach which emphasises co-creating a containing space which is validating and respectful. Eilis is passionate about providing a safe relationship for individuals to feel more freedom to discover different parts of themselves. She is constantly learning from each individual, knowing the value of each’s persons unique experience. Eilis is eager to work alongside her clients to provide an open and neuro-affirmative exploration. She feels it is a huge honour to be able to help her clients develop their self-understanding along this meaning making journey
