Dr Eva Cotter

Counselling Psychologist

PSI Chartered member no.: M10302C

My name is Dr Eva Cotter and I’m a Counselling Psychologist and Chartered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland

I’ve dedicated the last 13 years to studying and working in the field of psychology. During this time I have completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Master of Arts Degree in Behaviour from The University Of Aberdeen, a Master of Science Degree in Psychology from Manchester Metropolitan University and more recently I obtained a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from Trinity College Dublin

I have experience working with children, adolescents and adults. My doctoral training in Ireland involved working in HSE CAMHS, adult primary care services and both child and adult disability services, supporting people presenting with a variety of mental health needs. Prior to my doctoral training, I spent several years working in medical and research settings. I also have extensive experience working to assess, diagnose and conduct care pathways with Autistic people

A humanistic psychologist at heart, my way of working is fundamentally based upon person-centred principles and human rights, with a focus on creating a supportive therapeutic alliance. Overall, my professional values encompass empowerment, inclusivity and social justice, and I have a special interest in working with people who are part of systemically marginalised communities
