Dr Joanne Doyle

Counselling Psychologist

Joanne is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland (M10249C). She has worked with young people, adults and asylum seekers within primary and secondary care and is currently supporting students within the Trinity Student Counselling Service. This involves working with people from neurodivergent (autism/ADHD) communities and from diverse gender (LGBTQ+), cultural and religious backgrounds. 

Joanne has a Doctorate of Counselling Psychology from Trinity College Dublin, a Masters in Humanitarian Action from UCD and a BA in Psychology and French from Trinity College Dublin.  Prior to her career as a Psychologist, Joanne worked as an international child protection specialist for NGOs and UN agencies within the humanitarian sector in countries including Vietnam, Pakistan, East Timor, Angola, Liberia and Haiti.

Joanne has valuable experience of supporting people experiencing a range of psychological difficulties related to anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, family/relationship problems and other challenges.  Her therapeutic approach is grounded within a person-centred stance that emphasizes empathy and respect and she is committed to collaborating on neurodiversity-affirmative assessments which emphasize people’s strengths and abilities, while recognizing their different needs and realities.
