Laura is a Clinical Psychologist and Chartered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland.
Laura graduated first in her year, achieving the highest academic results across the psychology undergraduate programmes at the National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG), where she was awarded the Martin McHugh Prize. She completed a Master of Science in Applied Psychology from Trinity College Dublin, followed by training as a Clinical Psychologist through NUIG’s Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme.
With over nine years of clinical experience, Laura has worked in various services, including adult and child/adolescent mental health, disability services, and medical settings. Since qualifying, she has worked in primary care psychological services and collaborated with neurology and neurodisability teams in a paediatric hospital, helping children and families understand their neurological profiles through assessment and therapeutic intervention. In addition to her public service work, Laura offers personalised support in private practice.
Laura is committed to neurodiversity and deepening her understanding of the diverse ways individuals experience the world. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of learning from and supporting Autistic and ADHD individuals across the lifespan, as well as others in the neurodivergent community. Laura approaches her work with compassion, striving to create a space where each person is respected and understood.
As an advocate for the neurodiversity-affirmative model, Laura is proud to be part of The Adult Autism Practice. She is also a strong ally to the LGBTQIA+ community, dedicated to providing a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their identity. Passionate about helping individuals embrace their unique strengths and individuality, she empowers them to feel seen and validated in their experiences. By working collaboratively, Laura supports individuals on their journey toward self-awareness, self-acceptance, and personal growth.
