Nicola is a Clinical Psychologist and Chartered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland

Nicola obtained a BA in Psychology from Maynooth University in 2015. Following this, she completed a Masters in Applied Psychology (Mental Health) in University College Cork in 2016. Nicola then gained experience working across a variety of settings including child primary care, adult mental health and forensic services for a period of four years. Nicola then completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Trinity College Dublin in 2023. Her Doctoral research focused on the value of compassion as an ‘antidote’ to shame. Throughout her doctoral training, Nicola completed placements in adult mental health; child and adolescent mental health; and disability services, in which she worked with Autistic children and adults

From her varied experience, Nicola brings a wealth of knowledge to her work with clients and embraces a compassionate and person-centred approach in her work. Nicola is committed to offering a therapeutic and neurodiversity-affirmative approach to the collaborative identification process. Nicola endeavours to create a space that feels non-judgemental and in which the client feels at ease, respected and understood. Nicola is encouraged by the neurodiversity-affirmative movement and is committed to listening to and being guided by the Autistic community
