Sara is a Clinical Psychologist and Chartered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland

Sara studied both her Bachelor’s in Applied Psychology and Master’s in Applied Psychology (Mental Health), at University College Cork. She then worked as an Assistant Psychologist in different primary care and adult mental health settings for two years. In 2023, Sara graduated from her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsych) at Trinity College Dublin. Through this, Sara gained experience working across different mental health services supporting children, adolescents and adults presenting with a variety of needs

Sara also completed a placement working with Autistic adults and is deeply passionate about creating a safe, neurodiversity-affirmative and person-centred space where people feel seen, heard and understood. Sara’s research focused on exploring the experiences of transgender people; their support systems; and identifying barriers to accessing sufficient and appropriate healthcare in Ireland

Sara is passionate about working with people who experience marginalisation in society, endeavouring to adopt a collaborative, non-judgemental, socially inclusive, human rights approach. Prior to joining The Adult Autism Practice, Sara gained experience working with asylum seekers and refugees who survived traumatic life events. She is experienced supporting people experiencing a range of psychological challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma and other difficulties. Her therapeutic approach is trauma informed, strengths based and emphasises respect and empathy
