Dr Jane McEvoy (she/her)

Senior Clinical Psychologist

PSI Chartered member

Jane is a Senior Clinical Psychologist and Chartered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland

Jane undertook her initial degree in Psychology at the University of Kent and obtained her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of East London. Her previous experience includes Honorary Lecturer roles at the University of East London and Queen’s University Belfast

Drawing on thirty years’ experience as a clinical psychologist, Jane has worked across a range of public services in both Ireland and the United Kingdom. Much of her work has been with children, adolescents and their families. She has seen the enduring challenges of growing up neurodivergent in a culture with neurotypical expectations of communication, social interactions, behaviour and learning style. More recently, Jane moved to a small private practice offering therapeutic support to neurodivergent young people and their families. She also runs anxiety and emotional regulation workshops and seminars for parents, teachers and other professionals

Over the last ten years, Jane has been thrilled to witness the huge sea change in how being Autistic is thought about, talked about and celebrated. She feels honoured to be part of a practice committed to neuro-affirmative action. For those seeking Autistic identification, Jane is sensitive to your previous experiences of services and seeking support

Jane finds nourishment and sanity in nature, her garden and in the mountains around her home. An avid traveller for many years, her most recent ‘kicks’ coming from a trip to Iraq last year. She has a good sense of humour and a lifelong commitment to social justice issues
