Iiris is a Clinical Psychologist with experience across a variety of clinical settings in the UK. Iiris is registered with The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist. She is also a member of The British Psychological Society
Iiris completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College London (UCL) in 2010 and a Masters in Narrative Therapy at The University of Melbourne in 2024
Iiris is trauma-informed, person-centred and collaborative in her approach seeing each person as an individual with different struggles, hopes and needs. Iiris is an advocate for LGBTQIE+ and disability rights as well as culturally sensitive therapy. Iiris believes that difference and diversity are invaluable parts of being human and contribute to the richness of our society. Iiris has a lot of experience working with services advocating for changes in the person’s environment to ensure their needs are met
Iiris completed the Masters in Narrative Therapy as she has a particular interest in the impact stories told can have on a person’s life. Iiris has a passion for supporting people to become aware of the impact different viewpoints can have on their perception of themselves. Iiris values being able to support people to explore what is important to them and how they want to live their lives. Iiris has found this way of working helpful during therapeutic conversations, neurodivergent identity discovery and post diagnostic support. Iiris loves supporting people to name and move away from neuronormative expectations, when these do not work for the person, towards what is working for each individual
Iiris believes there is no right way of engaging in conversation and would like to encourage each individual to engage in a manner that works for them. Different people may prefer to engage in different ways for example sitting down, standing up, walking around, having the camera on or off, using fidgets, making eye contact or not, inviting pets to join meetings
In addition to her work at The Adult Autism Practice, Iiris works in an NHS Mental Health of Intellectual Disability Service supporting clients, their cares and families. Iiris has experience in working with individuals, couples and groups
